The Reviv weighted blanket was created by a team of entrepreneurs in California, who wanted to improve the way they relax. After trying several different blankets, they realized that nothing on the market was exactly what they wanted. So they decided to create their own blanket.

Reviv is the first weighted blanket to be made with Lyocell Nanotechnology. Lyocell is a man-made, natural fiber created from wood pulp derived from sustainable tree farms. This textile is made through nanotechnology in a closed-loop process that decomposes or recovers all solvents and emissions. The use of this technology means that the Reviv blanket is eco-friendly, thermoregulated, hypoallergenic and antibacterial.

The Reviv blanket promises to relax your central nervous system by imitating the feeling of deep pressure or being hugged. The feeling of being hugged is known to decrease the body’s stress hormone, cortisol, and increase the body’s production of serotonin and melatonin. The result is that a person feels calmer, their mood improves, they have reduced anxiety, and they achieve a deeper sleep.

Reviv achieves the feeling of deep pressure with smooth glass beads. The beads are sewn in pockets to evenly distribute weight across the user’s body. Additionally, each blanket has a removable machine washable cover that is available in five colors.

The Reviv blanket also claims to be thermoregulated. This means that the blanket will keep the user warm in the winter and cool in the summer. Furthermore, the removable cover is made from 100% Lyocell Bamboo, which means the cover doesn’t need washing as often because Lyocell Bamboo is odor resistant, fungal resistant and bacteria resistant.

Reviv offers five weight options and five cover color options. The blanket is available in 8 lbs, 12 lbs, 15 lbs, 20 lbs, and 25 lbs. Reviv recommends that users select a blanket that is 10% of their body weight. This means that if the user is 150 lbs, they should select the 15 lb blanket. Additionally, if two users are going to share the same blanket, it’s recommended that couples choose a weight that falls in the middle of their two weights. For example, if one person is 115 lbs and the other is 185 lbs, then a good choice would be 15 lbs.

Technical details

The Reviv blanket gets its weight from glass beads. These beads are sewn into pockets to ensure the weight of the blanket is well distributed. The pockets that hold the beads are sewn with high quality, thick thread, and each square has an added layer of poly that balances the movement of the beads.

The blanket comes with a removable duvet cover that attaches to the blanket with 12 ties. The cover is made of 100% Lyocell Bamboo and is machine washable.

Material/Construction

The Reviv blanket uses Lyocell Nanotechnology. Lyocell is a type of fiber that, while man-made, is entirely natural and eco-friendly. The fibers come from wood pulp that derives from sustainable tree farms and is formed using a nanotechnology process that ensures that they either recover all solvents and emissions or they decompose. This fiber has several notable properties; it is hypoallergenic, thermoregulated, antibacterial and rich in color. Furthermore, the resulting fabric is incredibly soft to the touch and very durable.

The blanket contains durable glass beads that give the blanket its weight. The beads are sewn into pockets in order to distribute the weight over the user’s body evenly.

The blanket comes with a removable cover that is machine washable. The cover is made from 100% Lyocell Bamboo. Lyocell Bamboo comes from pure organic bamboo pulp that has been crushed, washed and spun into yarn. It is a renewable plant source that comes out feeling smooth and silky. Additionally, the fabric is exceptionally durable and doesn’t require frequent washing because the fabric is naturally odor-resistant, antibacterial and antifungal as a result of the bio-agent bamboo Kun which lives in the bamboo fiber.

The Reviv blanket is available in sizes that approximate a queen and king-sized bed. However, the company states that the blanket is slightly smaller than the bed itself. The reason for this is so that there is enough mass on top of the user to provide a deep pressure sensation.

Cleaning/Care

The cover for the Reviv blanket is machine washable. When necessary, the blanket should be spot cleaned and air-dried.

Where do they ship?

The Reviv blanket ships all over the world. They offer free shipping to the United States, but the shipping cost internationally varies by country. Reviv says this is because of the laws, tax regulations and custom fees of different countries. Reviv’s shipping fees include customs fees, VAT (for Europe), warehousing, and fulfillment.

What is the Delivery Policy?

Reviv is currently a crowdfunded project, and the product only officially started delivery in July 2019. According to updates on Kickstarter, they are still having issues with delivery but are working to resolve these issues as quickly as possible. Their last update is dated January 28, 2020, and they did not mention when new deliveries would be shipped.

Return Policy

Reviv does not offer returns. Reviv is a crowdfunding project, and they have not yet defined a return policy but are not at the moment accepting returns. They are also not issuing refunds to backers who haven’t received their blanket yet. They say this is because they have already spent all the funds from the project on manufacturing and fulfillment.

Warranty Details

The Reviv blanket offers a warranty that covers any manufacturing details in either material or workmanship for the life of the product. This warranty doesn’t cover any damage that results from negligence, improper care, accident, normal wear and tear or the normal breakdown of material and colors over an extended period of time and use.
