The Calmforter weighted blanket is a non-pharmacological therapy that uses deep pressure touch stimulation to simulate the sensation of being hugged. Deep pressure stimulation exerts pressure over the body, which provides both physical and psychological advantages. The pressure from the blanket increases serotonin and melatonin levels in the body, allowing it to relax.

It’s possible to use the Calmforter in several fashions. Users may cover their bodies with the blanket entirely, wrap the blanket around their shoulders or lay it across their laps or legs. The Calmforter is 60″ x 80″ in size and comes in 12 lbs and 15 lbs weights. Studies have shown that 60″ x 80″ is the ideal size for full-body pressure therapy. There are seven color variations available, and the price includes a premium cover.

The Calmforter is weight versatile in that the blanket folds to increase or reduce the weight. For instance, if a user wants a 6 lbs blanket they can use half the blanket or three-quarters of the blanket to make it 9lbs. If more than 12 lbs are needed, then the blanket can be doubled up to increase the pressure twice-over.

The cover is machine washable and dryable on low heat, but Calmforter recommends that the blanket itself be spot cleaned and air-dried.

The Calmforter weighted blanket has an inner and outer layer. The outer layer is a Minky fabric cover with one smooth side and one side with a SensaDot texture pattern. The SensaDot texture pattern provides sensory stimulation, which produces a calming effect for some people. The inner layer contains StarDust Microbeads and CloudSoft Polyfill.

Material/Construction

The Calmforter utilizes industry-exclusive Evenflow technology to provide a comfortable and relaxing experience. To create an even pressure over the entire body, the Calmfoter uses Stardust Microbeads surrounded by CloudSoft Polyfill.

Made from Minky fabric, the outer layer is silky on one side and dotted on the other. The SensaDot texture pattern on the cover can be tactically soothing for users with Autism or anxiety. Unlike the majority of weighted blankets, the Calmforter doesn't utilize square pocket stitching. Instead, the Calmforter has an entirely smooth look as the weighting system hides inside the cover.

The outer cover attaches to the inner weighted blanket with fabric ties and zips closed.

Cleaning/Care

The 2-part construction of the Calmforter means that the outer cover removes for machine washing and drying. There should be no need to wash the inner piece; doing so may deteriorate the weights.

What is the Delivery Policy?

When the Calmforter blanket comes from Platinum Health, the order will ship the same day unless the customer places the order in the late afternoon or evening. In this case, the order ships the next business day. All orders ship from their U.S. based warehouse locations. Platinum Health is not responsible for any duties, customs, or taxes.

If the blanket comes from Amazon, Amazon will provide an estimated shipping or delivery date at checkout. Delivery estimates are calculated using the predicted time that it will take to ship the item and the amount of time the item will be in transit. Transit time is considered to be Monday to Friday unless a weekend delivery option is selected at checkout. Transit time also takes holidays into account. Return Policy

The Platinum Health return policy states that blankets may be returned within 30 days. The item has to be in as new condition and be sent back in its original box. The customer is responsible for return shipping, and they should call customer service to initiate a return and receive a Return Merchandise Authorization Number (RMA#). Products cannot be returned without an RMA number. Products returned without an RMA will not be accepted, and no refunds will be issued. Customers should call customer service at 1-888-550-2410.
